Florida Vacation

well, I am really, really behind on the blog right now and I blame facebook. It's so much easier to post pictures and short updates there than write everything out, but I am going to try and get some updates on here! Going to do a few posts so I can keep them separate and get some pictures too.

In July, we went to Florida, Logan's first vacation. I was so worried about him flying since it would be his first time and he isn't one to sit still very long, is always asking to "get out" when we are in the car. But he was amazing! Except for me trying to hold his feet when he wanted to kick the seats in front of us, he did fantastic. We stayed in St Pete Beach and day 1 headed down to the beach. We didn't change into swimsuits because it was late in the day. The water was pretty calm and Logan went right in, he kept trying to go further out, enough that the water was almost to his waist. We had fun playing in the water for awhile, then just walked on the sand to get him used to that. We had a suite type room, so we go a crib from the hotel, which was pretty small and I was worried Logan wouldn't sleep in it. But night time came and we did our normal routine and he went right in! No issues at all. He adjusted to hotel life pretty easily. I actually think his favorite part of the trip was playing in the hotel. Who knew ice buckets could be so much fun?

We went to Busch Gardens the next day which I really thought Logan would like because they had a whole Elmo theme for the kids area. It was so hot that it was just gross, but we went anyway! When we got to the kids area, the Sesame Street show was starting, so we got some seats and tried to cool off while watching. Logan didn't seem too impressed with seeing all his tv friends in real life. He watched it but didn't have much expression, so not sure if he liked it or not! We then took him on a few rides, which again he rode them, but didn't seem very impressed. Next we found the splash park, which was great, should have gone there first! Logan enjoyed playing some in the water and we enjoyed getting a little wet to cool down.

We went down to the beach and the pool on our last full day there and Logan was a lot more scared. The water was a lot rougher so he didn't want to go in, but after awhile, we went in while I was holding him, then he enjoyed it. He also liked playing in the sand, we dug holes and filed and refiled and refiled with water. He really enjoyed making us go get him more and more water to fill the holes! He liked playing in the sane, but not sitting it in. He freaked out when we sat him down! The pool wasn't such a hit, he enjoyed it for awhile, but he is definitely not a water baby yet.

Again on the way home, he was great, they had a play area at the airport right by our gate and he played in there for a long time. On the plane he was perfect again, no issues, so now i am not scared to fly with him anymore!

Here are some pictures:

Logan and I on the plane, doesn't he look excited...

Jason and Logan on the merry go round, again see the excitement??

Cool dude at the pool, taking a water break

We went shopping one day and at first Logan had a little small minnie and mickey stuffed animal and then he noticed the backyardigans... He immediately got rid of mickey and minnie and grabbed hold of 3 of these. Thank goodness he didn't realize there are 5 characters! We couldn't get them back from him to even pay for them, it was really cute. It was so hot out and he held these 3 guys the rest of the time and I had to talk him out of them to put him back in his carseat, but then had to give them right back! He lost his love for awhile, but found them again once we got home. Now they sleep in his crib every night (along with pooh, eeyore, and tigger) and they now go to daycare everyday where we put them in his bed as soon as we get there. It's pretty funny...

So that is basically our trip! sorry it took me almost 3 months to get it up here, but I am going to try and catch up and stay caught up!
